Do This on Your Wedding Morning at Donnington Grove!

If your wedding is fast-approaching you’ll have a million and one thoughts running through your mind, and you might feel a little overwhelmed with everything you have left to plan. One thing you should never underestimate is the morning of the wedding, this can pass really quickly, and if you aren’t organised and don’t have an action plan in place, things will quickly spiral out of control.

Get this right, and you can have the perfect start to your wedding day at Donnington Grove and be able to relax and chill with your maid of honour, the bridesmaids and any girlfriends that are part of your wedding entourage. A clear structure to the start will obviously help, and we have a few suggestions for you right here to make the morning pass as smoothly as possible.

Arrange to get your hair and makeup done early

By this stage, you should already know what style of hairdo you want for your wedding day and more than likely will have had a trial run with your hairdresser prior to the big day. That doesn’t mean you can be complacent with the preparations for your hair though, and the same goes for your makeup too. Allow plenty of time to get your hairstyle perfect and this will leave you less stressed and give you more time to relax and enjoy the other preparations. With more time to play with, it won’t matter as much if your hair doesn’t go quite right at the first attempt, as you will have plenty of time to rectify this before you tie the knot.

Take your wedding dress out of its cover

Avoid leaving your wedding dress inside its cover all morning, take it out and hang it somewhere in the room so it has a chance to breathe and small creases can drop away. Make sure that wherever you hang the dress it is well away from makeup, food or anything that might come into contact with it which could potentially spoil its appearance. By hanging the dress up, this also gives your photographer the opportunity to take pictures of the dress which can then be added to your album afterwards.

Eat well

It’s important to eat well both on the night before the wedding and on the day you are getting married too. Have a hearty breakfast to prevent a rumbling tummy as you walk down the aisle, and arrange to have a few nibbles and drinks available for the other members of your wedding party, so they can help you get ready and curb any hunger pangs at the same time. Something simple like fresh orange juice, fruit and small items of finger food are ideal, and your best friends will really appreciate the gesture.

Avoid too much alcohol

It’s tempting to have a few glasses of fizz to ease the pre-wedding nerves, and whilst a glass or two of Processco won’t do any harm and can actually get the celebrations started early, avoid drinking more than this so you can actually remember what’s happening before you say, “I do!” Aim to get to bed fairly early the night before the wedding if at all possible, this will remove the temptation to carry on drinking with friends and family that might be staying in the same hotel.

Think carefully about clothing

Wear loose clothing on the morning of your wedding such as a robe or button-up wedding PJs. These can be removed easily without having to pull them over your head and subsequently ruining your freshly prepared hair and recently applied makeup. Plus you’ll be comfier in loose clothing before you are officially fitted into your dress, and another plus point is you won’t be worried about spilling anything on these items either.

Enjoy the moment!

It’s a special time on the morning of your wedding, this is the last time you will officially be a Miss, and it gives you the opportunity to spend quality time with your Mum, sisters, bridesmaids and the girlfriends that mean so much to you. Enjoy this time together, have a few laughs, play some music to relax, and savour the feeling that all the planning is finished, and you can now look forward to marrying the love of your life with nothing left to stress about.
